Game Of Thrones Episode 1: Winter is Coming

The stage is set for Martin’s fantastical world of Westeros, where several noble families will contend for control of its Iron Throne.

The main players are the Baratheons, Starks, Lannisters, and the Targaryens. King Robert Baratheon requests Eddard “Ned” Stark to serve as the King’s Hand, following the death of the former Hand. Ned’s son, Bran, witnesses something he should not have and pays dearly for his folly at the hand of the Lannisters, the Queen’s family.

Across the seas, Viserys Targaryen forces his sister, Daenerys, to marry Khal Drogo in the hopes of using Drogo’s fierceS Dothraki warriors to win back the throne from the Baratheons.

Unknown to the noble families, the Night’s Watch at the North bears witness to a terrifying massacre.
